Scenes from the Fall Workday at the Demonstration Forest
Saturday, November 18, 2000, Noon - 3 p.m.

The pathway has been repacked and is ready for winter! A few more natives have been added to the landscape. Our wounded tree (the Chitalpa) has been given a TLC pruning. The FOREST looks great thanks to: Cal, Tami, Kailyn and Shaley Gunther; Mark and Christopher Tomes; David and Joseph Arndt; Ruben Salcedo (new worker - welcome Ruben!); Chris, Karen, Alison and Lauren Starke; Janice Severn; John Wyman (new worker - welcome John!); George Sullivan (d.g. coordinator); Mark Elliott; Simone and Justin Smith (planting/pruning director/doer); and Beverly Gingg. And, for those piles of d.g., we thank: 5th District Supervisor Mike Ryan and Legislative Assistant Debbie Arnold, Whitaker Contractors, Inc., and Hanson Aggregates. Last, but not least, thanks to The Educated Gardener for donating many of the natives (including Toyon, Ceanothus, Douglas's Iris, and California Poppy (seeds) and planting them. Thanks to Cheri Roe for photo scans!
