Snapshots
Scenes from Fall 2006

October has been a busy month for forest friends in Santa Margarita. Take a look at these snapshots to see what we've been up to. Don't forget that Nov. 18 is the date for our fall planting party at the Demonstration Forest. Special thanks to Santa Margarita School P.T.A. for their generous support and to the many volunteers who keep the DF growing for all to use and enjoy. Check the calendar at http://www.smcf.org/calendar.html for details and come join us.

Santa Margarita School's 4th through 6th grade students will soon participate in this fall's "Learning Among the Oaks" Trail Program, supported by the California Wildlife Conservation Board. Thanks to Santa Margarita Ranch and many local collaborators, students have the opportunity to learn about oak conservation and stewardship within the context of a working cattle ranch. Special thanks to Rod Hoadley and assistant Chris Skrabinik (shown here) for Oct. 13, 2006 installation of trail entrance gate and to the CCC for trail maintenance. The trail access is restricted to approved teacher/docent led hikes.
