Scenes from SSA Ranch to the Demonstration Forest
"Rock Moving Work Party"
December 6, 2003

Project leader David Arndt and a cadre of volunteers met at the Demonstration Forest for the early morning trip to Jim DeLuca's SSA Ranch. The purpose of this excursion was to pick up (easier said than done) some nice boulders to enhance the Demonstration Forest landscape and to complete memorial projects started in November 2002. Special thanks to Jim DeLuca for giving up some great boulders from his ranch, to Don Chaffin (+"Turbo") for delivering many beautiful serpentine rocks from an Arroyo Grande site and for transport trailer service, and to Jerry Spruill for additional trailer service. We were very lucky to have not only two trailers but these volunteers (in addition to David, Jim, Don and Jerry) to help make it a successful work party: Mark Tomes, George Sullivan, Andrew Von Dollen (smcf webmaster) and Beverly Gingg (who didn't do much more than take pictures and meet the stars of SSA Ranch).
