This is Treechie, the teaching tree, with Simone Smith, SMCF board member and oak explorations facilitator. Treechie was designed by Cindy McCall of Santa Barbara Co. ReLeaf and created by Julie Diani of Nipomo. The original Treechie lives in Cindy's Lompoc office; there are now four Treechie varietals in California. Simone and Treechie are part of the “field trips to the forest” educational team.
