Workday at the Demonstration Forest
Saturday, January 12, 2002
9 - 11 a.m.

The Demonstration Forest is beautiful thanks to an energetic crew of volunteers (10 adults and 9 children) who came to tackle unruly weeds, pick up litter and clear the trail on January 12. It was a gorgeous day to be outside pulling weeds from the moist earth. Looks like we're going to have a spectacular spring --- the narcissus are just beginning to bloom and California poppies are growing like weeds (had to be very careful when pulling the real weeds!). Volunteer workdays are held on the second Saturday of each month. Check the Calendar for details and come join us next month!

L to R: Christy, Nicki, Alexis (member of Girl Scout Troop #65) and Heather are four of the young volunteers who came to tackle weeds and beautify the Demonstration Forest on January 12.
